Quality Analyst – Digital and Open Source

Introduction

Vichag is one of UK’s rapidly growing Business consulting companies specialising in providing consulting and business solutions to Industry and public sector enterprises across UK.

Currently we are looking for an experienced Quality Analyst specialising in testing complex IT applications and solutions in manual and automated environments with focus on Digital and Open source applications.

Key Responsibilities

• To write Test plans and scripts/strategies for Manual and Automation test environments with focus on Digital and Opensource applications
• To implement best practices in QA with proven knowledge in Agile and BDD methodologies
• To attend Sprint planning, Retro, Demo’s and daily Scrum meetings.
• To estimate the QA effort along with development team for new user stories, change requests and defects as part of sprint planning.
• To perform Regression, Exploratory and system testing.
• To work closely with Scrum team to gather the requirements/scenarios for testing.
• To be responsible for the BDD Cucumber Automation frameworks.
• To be able to build the Page object model frameworks from basic level.
• To demonstrate expertise with Selenium Web driver and Selenium Grid to execute and maintain the Automation test scripts.
• To set-up the environment and architecture for automation and be responsible for the software installations.
• To analyse the Business Requirement Specifications(BRS) to meet overall business objectives.
• To participate in reviews, manage high priorities and advance time releases of software. 
• To show proficiency in software quality assurance to reach the end customer needs.

 Essential Experience

• Testing experience in IT landscapes with Digital and Opensource applications
• Proven experience in testing process and excellent knowledge of Automation frameworks and implementation, test planning and test execution.
• Familiar with Automaton test scripts using Selenium Web driver.
• Good experience on Eclipse IDE and Intellij.
• Knowledge of different testing tools such as Junit, testNG or Nunit.
• Participation in deployments of various builds using Jenkins.
• Experience in an Agile, BDD, Waterfall and STLC methodologies.
• Experience in testing of Trading and e-ecommerce websites.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies, and in improving the existing processes.

 Desired Experience

• Exposure to HTML and Xml.
• Knowledge of Regression and Exploratory testing.
• Experience of Performance testing to meet QA standards.
• Working knowledge in writing SQL queries.

Skill Sets Required

• Extensive background within software testing by focusing on Automation Testing with Strong skills of Java and Selenium.
• Adaptable and keen to learn new testing tools and methodologies.
• Previous experience of working as an Agile tester in Scrum projects.
• Experience in utilising Jira or similar web-based test/defect management tools.
• ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certification or equivalent industry level experience.
• Candidate should have excellent demonstrative and client engagement skills.
• Preparation of appropriate documentation of testing techniques for future reference.
• Candidate should be ready to deliver high quality outputs in tight timelines.
• Test break attitude, reasoning skills, patience and keen observation.
• Good experience with Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Windows Operating systems.

Education Level / Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• Preferred – Master’s Degree.

Travel - Occasionally within UK and abroad.
