Accounts Assistant (12 month Fixed Term Contract) - Spider Recruitment Services are currently advertising for an Accounts Assistant to join this highly successful contractor to the rail industry, based at their head office in Colchester. As the Accounts Assistant you will join the family run business for a 12 month fixed term contract, working as an effective part of the team completing a variety of accounts and finance tasks.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

-Manage and maintaining accounts records and issue reports to Managers
-Raising sales invoices and credit notes
-Resolving queries internally and externally
-Processing receipts, sales invoices and payments
-Reconcile and process subcontractor payments
-Produce the weekly invoices for customers and ensure that these are issued to customers in a timely manner
-Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met and run monthly expenses payment runs
-Reconciling supplier and customer accounts
-Run monthly expenses payment run

As the successful Accounts Assistant you will also complete accurate data inputting and maintain confidentiality when processing sensitive or financial information. This role will also include answering the phone, reading and sending emails to clients, as well as providing cover to the wider finance team.

You will be IT literate, with attention to detail, keen to achieve results and able to quickly adapt to in-house systems. Through excellent communication skills you will develop professional relationships, able to work independently as well as part of a team.

To be successful in this role you will have accounts/ finance/ bookkeeping experience and experience with Sage is desirable. Perhaps you have recently completed or are studying towards AAT Level 2?

As the Accounts Assistant you will receive a salary of GBP15-16K, working 37.5 hours per week, (Monday - Friday 8.00 - 16.30 with 1 hour lunch).
