Assistant Accountant - Manufacturing
Our client is a global company in the Civil Engineering and Rail industries. They are currently looking to employ an Assistant Accountant for their Finance Team on an ongoing 6 month contract. Located in Chippenham, this is an opportunity for someone to work closer to home and cut on the commute.
Purpose of the role:
The purpose of the Assistant Accountant role is to support the Freight & Products operations team by providing accurate & timely financial analysis for the manufacturing operations & to provide support across all areas of the Freight & Products operations portfolio.
Key Responsibilitiesfor the Assistant Accountant:
* Run & issue reports on Recoveries.
* Run & issue daily sales report.
* Operate internal controls on production orders and stock. Investigate issues.
* Timely completion of some end of period routines including journal preparation & posting, variance analysis & balance sheet reconciliations.
* Prepare & issue reports monitoring stock check progress.
* Investigate differences between GRNs and invoices
* Other analysis & reporting as required.
Experience & Skills required:
* AAT qualified or equivalent
* Confident communicator
* Ability to produce & interpret meaningful financial analysis
* Advanced spreadsheet skills ( pivot tables, vlookups etc) an advantage
* Working knowledge of SAP, in particular Manufacturing, Sales and Finance modules an advantage
* Proactive problem solving nature, able to work alone as well as part of a team
* Good time management skills with the ability to understand and work to the reporting time constraints
