Offender Resettlement Triage Worker

We’re looking for an influential individual with in-depth experience of customer service work to join us as a Resettlement Triage Worker and help deliver a vital resettlement service to offenders.

Part of the Transforming Rehabilitation programme, our Through the Gate Team delivers an integrated resettlement service to offenders, primarily on-site at HMP Forest Bank. As well providing resettlement plans, we deliver housing, finance and debt interventions via group and one to one appointments. We also coordinate referrals to appropriate agencies to deliver additional pathway interventions, review agreed interventions, action any outstanding Areas of Concern and much more besides.

Your key responsibilities:

• Deliver a professional, impartial, pragmatic and outcome focussed service to offenders within HMP Forest Bank or via outreach to additional HMP locations within the contract area
• Complete a Basic Custody Screening Tool assessment and resettlement plan for each offender, identify required interventions and refer other pathway interventions to appropriate providers
• Make sure case detail are entered onto agreed case management systems accurately and punctually
• Contribute both to the day-to-day functioning of the service and local service and policy development

And what you’ll need:

• A background in client/customer service related work and a demonstrable interest in and/or experience in social welfare law issues, including housing and homelessness
• Commercial awareness, lots of initiative, respect for others opinions, great relationship building and communication skills and a collaborative, results-driven approach
• Good typing skills and proficiency using a range of IT tools to carry out your work, including case management systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Ideally, because some of the locations are difficult to reach by public transport, a full driving licence and access to a vehicle with relevant insurance.
