Our client has an excellent reputation and growth strategy across the utilities industry. The core of the business involves specialising in bespoke and term utility construction projects for various blue chip clients.
Key Essentials:
* Reporting to the Board of Directors you will be involved in overseeing the complete Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management involved in the Construction of Underground Utility Projects
* This role will be hands-on, overseeing a team of Advisor's whilst regularly liaising with and supporting Directors and Senior Operational staff helping to drive process improvements using Lean Principles
* Your role will involve working with the Commercial team with Tender Negotiations; providing all SHEQ information and documentation to assist in providing competitive tenders
* You will be responsible for overseeing the development of procedures and processes for OHSAS and ISO accreditation
* You will be responsible for ensuring that Risks and Control Measures are identified and that Management systems are in place to keep them as low as possible
* You will be required to regularly carry out Site SHEQ Inspections and Audits; providing feedback to Directors and Senior Operational staff
* Your role will involve monitoring performance by gathering data and producing statistical reports. You will be required to conduct trend analysis on these statistics to identify key trends in incident types
* You will be responsible for introducing and implementing SHEQ policies, translating into working processes; ensuring all legislative, corporate and industry requirements are met in all areas that the company operates
* You will be responsible for carrying out impact assessments to identify, assess and reduce all environmental risks and financial costs to the business
* You will be responsible for Investigating accidents and incidents; whilst monitoring and maintaining statistics on accidents and devising strategies and training to reduce these
* This role will involve coordinating all aspects of Environmental Health, Recycling, Pollution Control, Waste Management (plans), Conservation and Renewable Energy
* It will be your responsibility to have good knowledge of relevant legislation that may affect the business whilst keeping up to date with any new policies. This may be through attending seminars and / or reading professional journals
Requirements:
* You should be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in Health & Safety / NEBOSH Level 6 with IOSH accreditation
* It is essential that you have at least 10 years Health & Safety Management experience in the utilities industry with extensive knowledge of H&S legislation
* You should have previous experience with ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 and ideally hold Auditor status
* This is an excellent position in a rapidly growing company that offers a salary of up to GBP80k + Comprehensive Package
