Telephone and Data Engineer

A great opportunity has arisen for a Telephone and Data Engineer to join one of the longest established communication companies in the UK. Based in Blackburn, Lancashire, the successful Telephone and Data Engineer will earn a salary of £20,000 depending on experience, plus bonus and benefits.

With that in mind, as a Telephone and Data Engineer your main duties will be to install, maintain and provide full training to customers for their new telephone system. In addition. 

The successful candidate will be able to work well on their own and will have good customer-facing communication skills. The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is also important, as well as being flexible and forward thinking as day to day activities can regularly change. To be considered for the Telephone and Data Engineer position you must have demonstrable experience within the Telecoms industry and possess the following key skills, experience and technical requirements:

• Full clean driving license is essential
• Effective time management and organisational skills
• Competent working alone or as part of a team
• Logical approach to problem solving
• Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints
• Punctual

Technical Requirements: 

• Qualified Panasonic engineer (KX-NS700/NS1000 and KX-TEA308) is preferable however experience with other systems will be advantageous
• Knowledge of Vodafone One Net and Gamma Horizon VoIP
• Knowledge of fixed and wireless networking
• Knowledge of system add-on (door-entry, PA system integration)
• Knowledge of CAT5 and CAT6 Cabling solutions
• Knowledge of AV/CCTV installations would be advantageous
• Ability to fault find networks and PSTN/ISDN lines
• System design, installation, maintenance and User Training experience
