Summary of Role:

The role of Manufacturing Engineering Manager is a critical leadership position and is responsible for a diverse range of Engineering. You will report to the Head of Manufacturing - Glenrothes and you will be directly responsible for a diverse team of circa 20 professionals, plus have indirect influence across all Glenrothes Manufacturing Engineering community As an Engineering Manager, you will also lead on numerous improvement projects aimed at streamlining activities while driving up performance and quality. Taking part in Site, UK

& Global Initiatives, you will tackle complex problems that affect customers and work to resolve them with innovative solutions. You will be given a real opportunity to shape your Department with ideas that could be rolled out across UK Manufacturing

Main Duties:

You will play a critical role in the management, control and direction of Manufacturing Engineering.

The extent of your duties will include: Maintain health and safety standards within area and promote a positive health and safety culture on Site Lead, motivate and support a diverse team within a demanding environment. This will include the setup and implementation of career development plans for all direct reports, along with the creation of robust succession plans that provides strength and depth

Responsible for the effective operation of Manufacturing NPI, ensuring the Function supports timely and cost competitive bids for new business, in both new products and repeat business

Responsible for the Industrial Engineering department, driving continuous process improvement, utilising Raytheon Six Sigma philosophy as appropriate.

Implement change and contribute in cross-Functional Initiatives within your site and the broader Raytheon business

Manage the Raytheon Six Sigma team, within the Function to optimise their effectiveness, for business benefit

Responsible for all Operator Training & Certification

Responsible for Functional Compliance to all regulatory requirements(both internal & external) plus represent the Function in HSE

Lead the Engineering Council, within Manufacturing, and drive cultural change across the entire engineering community

Be a key contributor in the formation and delivery of the Operations Strategy. Including developing processes, plans and employees to meet the strategic aspirations of our business

Candidate Requirements:

The successful candidate will: Have experience in leading diverse engineering teams Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Be self-motivated, and able to work without appreciable direction Demonstrated competence in electronic & electro-mechanical engineering, with an impressive track-record in a similar environment Have a sincere bias for action and be passionate about achieving results and driving production through efficiency and process improvement Possess the ability to manage detail, establish root cause and be able to extract and analyse data. Must be able to demonstrate effective problem-solving and analytical capability Thrive on change, inclined to operate with flexibility and commit the time required to get the job done

10 years' experience at a senior engineering management level

Essential/Desirable

Degree qualified in Engineering or Science related discipline is essential

Defence/Aerospace Industry background is essential Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies would be highly advantageous
