Shorterm Group are working with a client in the Gloucestershire are who require a Special Process Supplier Quality Engineer on a permanent basis.
Purpose:
In this role you will evaluate, select and ensure ongoing compliance and approval of Suppliers for all external Special Processes (including development). You will also assess, Qualify and, audit new and existing Suppliers for conformance to Special Process Specifications, reporting to the Supplier Quality Manager.
Main Duties:
* Approve Supplier Manufacturing Methods & Critical Operation sheets relating to Special Processes in line with company requirements
* Conduct Investigations and, formally report findings within the company, to our Customers.
* Participate in problem solving workshops to ensure effective identification of root cause using 8d methodology
* Ensure timely closure of effective Corrective Actions and ensure smooth transition of New Product Introduction for either new designs or for parts transferring from one Site to another
* Promote and use Lean principles in all Special Processing activities and maintain Quality databases as appropriate
Requirements/Skills:
* You will be of HNC or graduate calibre and have a thorough knowledge of Quality Management System implementation, preferably to the recognised Aerospace Standards - AS9100./ NADCAP
* You will need to be an experienced Auditor, preferably at Lead Assessor level, computer literate and have excellent communication skills, both written and oral
* Hold a full driving licence and current passport
* Be willing to travel overseas
* Thorough understanding of various Special processing disciplines including : NDT, Heat Treatments, Chemical Processes, Shot Peening etc at a working level (technical and practical) Quality, Lean tools and Problem Solving Methods and competent In-Process risk assessments (FMEAs)
