Commodity Buyer - Electro-Mechanical - Melksham

We are looking for a Commodity Buyer - Electro-Mechanical to be based in Melksham Wiltshire for a world leading safety critical sub-system provider (design, manufacture and servicing) to the rail industry for Platform Screen Door Systems, Braking, due to unprecedented levels of growth, investment and modernisation of the rail industry internationally.

Role:
The Commodity Buyer - Electro-Mechanical is responsible for the Procurement activity which involves selection, monitoring, management and development of OEE and SME manufacturing suppliers within electronic and electro-mechanical sectors with a spend portfolio of 7M Euros. They will develop the use of evaluating Total Acquisition Cost, including on-going manufacturing costs and subsequent Whole Life Cost Modelling to co-ordinate all suppliers' contracts and act as lead buyer on supplier related projects.

Responsibilities:
- Analysing, interpreting and leveraging spend and performance data.
- Implement and lead sourcing related improvement projects.
- Managing implementation of commodity strategies through close working relationships with key stakeholders within the Group.
- Delivery performance metrics
- Supplier relationship management plan
- Performance management of key suppliers
- Management of on time delivery in full
- Cost reduction target of 5% on spend
- Supply base reduction target 10%
- Stock rationalisation/optimisation programme reduction of 10%
- PDP for direct reports
- NDA coverage 100%
- MSA agreements plan to be agreed and implemented

Professional experience and/or qualifications:
- Engineering degree preferable
- CIPS
- LEAN / Six Sigma certified
- Analytical skills - attention to detail, produce reports in Excel and SAP, trend analysis, forecast planning and KPIs as well as updates for order book management.
- Purchase requirements of assigned materials and/or services at the lowest Total Acquisition Cost for the quantity, quality and delivery required.
- Lead the development and generation of the RFI/Q/P, compile scope of supply and draft legal contracts in a timely manner to achieve business requirements.
- Analyse and evaluate quotations from potential suppliers.
- To ensure negotiated contracts are implemented to maximum effect.
- Provide monthly reports on activities meeting for Group KPI measures.
- Expedite materials and / or services when required and manage any rejections or other problems on materials and / or services purchased.
- Manage customer and supplier relationships and successfully drive supplier improvements.
- Project procurement exposure / Project ownership, planning and management of key project areas.
- Proactively engage in continuous improvement.
- Conversant with VA/VE cost modelling techniques
- Available for travel in UK and Europe desirable

Benefits
- Salary - ??35,000 to ??48,000 - dependent upon experience.
