Job Title: HGV Class 1 Driver - Night Shift

Location: Ilkeston

Salary: £9.93 per hour plus night rate

In this role you will be responsible for being best in class by driving effectively and efficiently when transporting and delivering a variety of products for Suttons Group. The successful candidate must ensure key performance targets are met without compromising the Health, Safety and Environmental standards set by the Company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a first class driving and delivery performance to all customers.
  • Adhering to all legislative requirements, drivers hours and company procedures.
  • Complete duties in accordance with the Company Health and Safety Policy.
  • Maintain the correct loading and discharging procedures for all deliveries, ensuring that all legal and Company documentation is completed accurately and on time.
  • Ensure vehicle is roadworthy and legal compliant by completion all pre start / movement checks and circle checks.
  • Ensure all equipment and consignments are safe and secure.
  • Raise and complete vehicle / site defect reports in line with company and legislative requirements.

Key Requirements:

  • Comply with all legislation, rules and procedures ensuring that all incidents and near misses are reported.
  • Ensure promotion of health and safety in the workplace by ensuring that the cleanliness of the working environment is maintained and equipment is operated safely, effectively and efficiently.
  • Comply fully with the company procedures relating to tachographs, ensuring that your drivers card and vehicle are downloaded in accordance with local timescales.
  • Maintain excellent communication with your Transport Planner and admin.

  • Knowledge ,Skills & Job Details: Essential Professional and safety conscious Good standard of education Ideally 2 years' experience HGV C & E license from a tanker operation ADR Qualified (excluding 1&7) Legal compliance, WTD, EU Driving hours
