Job purpose
Our client is currently recruiting for an Approved Electrician to cover projects across the South West Region, the primary function of the role being the installation and testing of electrical equipment & plant.
The position would suit an experienced electrician who is looking for increased responsibility in assisting the site supervision and management teams and would be willing to improve their position by showing strong leadership and organisation skills for consideration of promotion to Electrical Supervisor or working within the Project Engineering Team.
The position would offer a major opportunity to increase the knowledge and skill level of the candidate by working for a national multi-disciplined MEICA & Process organisation that are willing to provide training, guidance and support for the right individual to enhance their own working ethics and performance.
Responsibilities
* Assisting in procurement of electrical materials and submissions for plant hire;
* Assisting planning the works with Electrical Supervisor;
* Interpretation of electrical drawings and schematics in relation to the installation of the project;
* Working to company Health & Safety procedures;
* Attending Toolbox Talks, Risk Assessments and Method Statements briefings;
* Assisting in the production of electrical installation and testing reports;
* Installation of electrical equipment and plant in accordance with BS7671;
* Inspections and Testing of electrical equipment and plant n accordance with BS7671;
* Production of electrical test documentation in accordance with BS7671;
* Signing of electrical completion certificates as required in accordance with BS7671;
* Assisting Commissioning Engineers for Loop Testing and Pre-Commissioning Checks
* Any other duties as required by Line Management where skills, knowledge and capabilities maybe utilised to the benefit of the team.
Knowledge skills & experience
* 1 Day CITB H&S Operatives Awareness Certificate or CCSNG Safety Passport;
* JIB Approved Electrical Certificate;
* BSth Edition Certificate;
* BS2391 Inspection & Testing Certificate;
* Comprehensive site experience in similar position;
* Expected to supply own hand tools. (Testing kit & power tools provided per van);
* Water Industry experience;
* COMPEX 9 & 10 Certified (Qualified to install / Inspect / Report Explosive Atmospheres
* Approved Profibus Installer / Commissioning Certificate (Desirable);
* Fibre Optic Jointing(Desirable);
* IPAF/PASMA/MEWP (Desirable);
* Fault finding skills on control panels and MCC's (Desirable)
