We are working on behalf SOS Homecare to fill this vacancy. This position is based in the Trafford borough, throughout Old Trafford, Stretford, Urmston and Sale.

The company has provided services to Trafford council since 1994, and more recently the company has expanded its service provision into St.Helens, as well as now providing extra care services in four locations throughout Cheshire.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a number of female Senior Assistants to join this expanding company. SOS Homecare are seeking a Senior Carer who can demonstrate a good understanding of care needs and is familiar with care plans, risk assessments and caring for individuals in their own home.

The ideal candidate will have a NVQ Level 3 (Health and Social Care) or be working towards NVQ level 3, (candidates with NVQ 2 will be considered) and will also be a vehicle owner / driver as this role will involve travel to Service users homes in the Trafford area.

Senior carers will be expected to;

  • Conduct spot checks
  • Conduct supervisions
  • Induct new staff through their shadowing phase
  • Ensure that medication paperwork is in place, and appropriately recorded.
  • Review care plans and risk assessments

Time will be given to senior carers each week to conduct their required tasks. The role also involves being part of an on-call rota which is compensated by extra payments. An on-call backup is also in situ to provide further support for the individual.

In return you will receive a salary of £8.70 per hour inclusive of a mileage payment, plus on-call payments.
