We currently have an opening for a Business Analyst to join our Head Office team. The role will primarily involve supporting the Senior Business Analyst in the management and analysis of the Society's mortgage book from a credit risk perspective and provide analytic support across the Finance Department, assisting in the development, implementation and monitoring of Management Information, securitised assets, regulatory reporting, provisioning and scorecards. The role holder will stay abreast of the current and future regulatory regime and support the Business Analytics Team with analytical projects.

The key responsibilities of this role include -

* Running the monthly data management tasks that are required for reporting and analytical purposes, ensuring accuracy of data by reconciling against data in the account management system.

* Produce Management Information reports ensuring a high standard of accuracy and presentation, and supporting the Senior Business Analyst in highlighting any areas that require further commentary to highlight to senior management and the Board any areas for concern.

* Produce key data outputs that are required for reporting to the Bank of England, the PRA, FCA, the Credit Reference Agencies, the Council of Mortgage Lenders or other external agencies, ensuring a high level of accuracy.

* Run capital and provisioning models on a regular basis to produce outputs required to ensure the Nottingham is well protected against potential losses.

* Assist the Senior Business Analyst in producing ad-hoc analysis on the mortgage portfolio.

* Support the Senior Business Analyst in identifying processes that can be improved and made more efficient.

* Follow and maintain key procedure guides, updating where necessary

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following behaviours, skills and experiences -

Experience/Skills:

* Educated to a degree level in a numerate subject ( e.g. Statistics/ Maths/ Economics)
* Proficient in Microsoft office software.
* Proficient in SAS programming.
* Knowledge of data extracts and reporting software (e.g. SQL, Oracle, Cognos).
* Demonstrates attention to detail while ensuring deadlines are met.
* Able to work with professionals at all levels.
* Strong customer and results orientation; welcomes and encourages change.
* Good communication skills to be able to present and explain analysis in a business orientated manner.
* Appreciation the sensitivity and confidentiality of handling customer information.
* Working actively, collaboratively and constructively with a range of stakeholders throughout the business.

Knowledge:

* In depth knowledge of relevant analytical techniques.
* Knowledge and understanding of other business areas and IT systems.
* Knowledge of different types of lending and the risk implications associated with them.
* An awareness of the relevant regulations, including the Basel III Capital Requirements Regulation, Capital Requirements Directive and PRA consultative papers.
