Instrumentation / Gas Detection

An Applications Engineer with skills in Gas Detection and/or Analysis, Spectroscopy, Analytical Chemistry, Instrumentation to develop new applications and develop new instrumentation based on UV Spectroscopy by DOAS and other techniques.
Ideal requirements:
- Qualified to degree level in a Scientific or Engineering discipline
- Experience in an analytical or gas detection environment
- Experience of multidisciplinary teams in instrumentation development
- Numerate and Literate - ability to write cogent analysis and instruction manuals
- Practical and logical approach to problem solving
- Capable of interfacing with customers directly in a professional manner
- Experience of DOAS or similar spectroscopic techniques
- Experience of UV Spectroscopy Job Function:
- To support the company in the development of novel instrumentation for very low level (low ppb) instrumentation based on UV Spectroscopy by DOAS and other techniques
- To support the company in providing analytical support for customer applications
- To assist off??site manufacturing suppliers in assembly and delivery of instrumentation for the above
- Foreign Travel will be a requirement - especially to America, EU and China.
Personal Qualities:
- Must be self??disciplined, organised, presentable to customers, willing to work hard to achieve a satisfactory result for
- Must be intelligent and logical in approach to problem??solving
- Valid Driving Licence and Passport essential
