We work on behalf of Transport for London, Local Authorities, Government agencies, Major Contractors and Developers throughout the UK to deliver design services from RIBA Stage 1 to 6.

As part of the strategic growth plans and the recent project awards we are seeking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Building Services Engineer with a proven track record in the control and delivery of a range of building services projects.

To be considered for a role we are seeking candidates with the following credentials:

Minimum Academic Qualifications:

- BEng/BSc Degree qualified in Mechanical / Building Services Engineering, MEng / MSc preferred
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or be able to prove progression towards achieving

Essential Experience:

- Proven building service engineering design experience in design consultancy environment, particularly within the education sector.
- Be a competent user of office IT and design tools i.e. Hevacomp, IES, TAS, NES and AutoCAD / REVIT.
- Experience in Sustainability & BREEAM and its influences on mechanical design
- Good understanding of Building Regulations and familiar with the National and regional planning policies
- Good working knowledge of legislation, British Standard, European standard and international standard.
- Stakeholder management skills and a can do attitude
- Capable of work under pressure and able to work on several projects simultaneously.
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary environment
- Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients is essential
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Be willing to be mobile, travel within the UK and abroad for project related work when required

Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Associate Technical Director, you will be responsible for developing the technical solutions for assigned projects ensuring successful delivery. As we operate in such a diverse marketplace, we can safely say that you will gain an experience of working on a wide and varied portfolio of projects which will enhance your skills and test your technical knowledge.

You will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of project to meet budget, time-frame and quality targets, meeting or exceeding client expectations, promoting and marketing all facets of Arcadis' services during interfaces with clients and other sectors and disciplines.

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

- To undertake mechanical building services design on UK and international projects with a good understanding of regulatory requirements and relevant standards
- To Undertake technical tasks in accordance with the company's quality, safety and project management/engineering procedures and controls
- Carrying out of design calculations on variety of buildings
- Preparation of technical specifications and drawings
- Ensure mechanical design quality and consistency are maintained
- Delivery of allocated technical assignments including Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning systems, Public health systems, Sustainable technologies, Renewable Energy systems, etc.
- Provision of mechanical and building services design inputs, within own area of experience/knowledge, across aspects of the company's activities and commissions.
- Inputs to the formulation of technical proposals and their presentation to potential clients
- Maintain good relationships with client's key representative, and contribute to the marketing/networking of the company to potential customers
- Contribute to the overall team development and growth through strategic inputs, skill development and mentoring intermediate and graduate engineers
- Manage and plan your work load while working on multiple projects to meet the expected delivery milestones.
