Transport Planner

RCS Logistics has an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planner to join the team based in Corby. You will be on a full time permanent contract, with a highly competitive salary dependant on experience.

Our ideal Transport Planner will be an experienced 3PL Transport Planner who can demonstrate an established working knowledge of the logistics industry with a willingness to work rotating shifts. You will report directly to the Transport Manager.

Proactivity is key to the role of Transport Planner, as you source backloads through established contacts to maximize our fleet efficiency. A good geographical knowledge is also extremely important for this position in order to ensure that routes are planned effectively, not only to meet our customer’s requirements but to maintain cost effectiveness and legal compliance.

This is a fast paced environment and it is equally as important that you can react promptly and with confidence to ad hoc requests and sudden changes. This position is about delivering the first class customer service which is RCS Logistics and the successful applicant will be an individual who thrives on challenge and is effective and enthusiastic about resource planning.

As our Transport Planner you will be one of the first points of contact for our customers and you will be working closely with the Transport team as you ensure the customer’s needs are met, so it is essential that you are confident dealing with people over the telephone and face to face. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are essential for this position, along with a key eye for detail.
