An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 experienced Project Engineers to join an established and well known major component manufacturer.
I am looking for candidates with testing and analysis experiences.
Knowledge of composites is desirable although not essential.
Project Engineer
This role will be responsible for the delivery of engineering solutions for the design, development, qualification, manufacture and long term supply of required components.
I am particularly interested in speaking with Test Engineers, Analysis Engineers, Test & Development Engineers with experience in a similar role.It is advantageous if you have experience gained within the Aerospace or Automotive industry although not essential.
You will work directly with other business functions to gain the necessary input for the required solution and ensure compliance to internal and customer requirements.
Ensure the NPI process is implemented & adhered to and appropriate project management tools are used and status is clearly communicated.
The Candidate:
- Product Design Testing experience
- Stress Reporting
- Experience of leading change/improvement implementation programmes with both Senior Management & Operational teams
- CAD
- Experience of Engineering Project Management (Desirable)
- Knowledge of Composite Materials (Desirable)
- Industry experience in a Design & Development environment (Desirable)
- Excellent technical, analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong organisation, planning, and delivery skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication ability
- Highly motivated, with a strong ability to use own initiative
- A team player able to work within a multi-disciplinary team
Job responsibilities:
- To support in the identification, design, development, introduction and validation of new systems & components
- To complete detailed CAD models and drawings including determining key technical and quality features to aid manufacture
- Understand drawings and technical specifications in order to assess and maintain compliance to all requirements and, where necessary, liaise with the customer and suppliers to determine technical requirements
- To implement design validation activities using such tools as first principle calculations and Finite Element Analysis and define validation tests.
- Design, manufacture/subcontract and commission various tooling used in the manufacture/test of composite components and assemblies
- To execute/oversee testing and compile reports on activities following scrutiny of test data.
- Application of statistical tools to engineering situations
- Conduct all engineering work in line with configuration management procedure
- To pro-actively seek opportunities to save cost in all areas of the business.
- To work closely where necessary with other functions to deliver projects
- To clearly communicate actions and progress of engineering tasks in hand
