We are seeking a self motivated and capable warehouse/ inventory professional to manage a stores function within a client's premises in Bridgwater.
If successful, you will be running the stores function and have full inventory control including offloading and checking all goods received in, safely handling and storing goods in the logistics area and issuing shipping instructions to freight forwarders. As this is a stand alone role, we will be looking for you to be comfortable to manage the entire process including ensuring accuracy of stock levels at all times, doing physical stock checks and supporting the production team with information on stock shortages and material availability. You will also need to be able to operate a forklift truck, and ideally hold a current licence. The role will also require you to set up new processes, constantly striving to improve efficiency and cost savings where possible. Data analysis and updating of the ERP System will be another essential part of the position so excellent IT skills are essential.
To apply we will be looking for you to have a strong proven background in stores, shipping and stock control. Previous experience of using an ERP system is required and experience of Oracle would be a distinct advantage. You will need outstanding communication skills and have experience of managing systems and processes. Knowledge of Six Sigma processes and procedures is preferred. Whilst this role does not involve managing staff, the IT literacy, data analysis, reporting and project work that is required, along with the ability to work on your own initiative, would suggest that this role would suit someone who has worked in a management level position previously. Strong problem solving and decision making skills are essential.
