Finance Manager (30 hours per week)

Our client has identified an opportunity for an experienced Part time Finance Manager to join their thriving company based in Leeds. The ideal candidate is someone with experience managing the day to day of a busy finance department looking for experience in a regulated industry.  

Position Summary

Managing the Finance Assistant and working alongside the Client Asset Manager your role will be varied and will include an array of daily duties including Financial Accounting, Administration, Procurement, Accounts Receivable etc.

Your responsibilities will include;

  • Following  up when required with the relevant Department heads in order to make sure they are following the agreed budget and control
  • Process physical payment of all supplier invoices and post to relevant software system.
  • Ensuring meetings are held fortnightly with Legal department and the Managing Director to review the suppliers / payees and make sure the relevant legal actions are taken
  • Prepare monthly Management Accounts and maintain overhead cost analysis records
  • Prepare reconciliations of all non-cash nominal at the accounting software control accounts  
  • Prepare reconciliations of all bank control accounts to statements  
  • Update the rolling cash flow forecast  
  • General administration duties will mainly be covered by the Finance Assistant; however, the Finance manager will be responsible for everything to be up to date.
  • Assist Managing Director with miscellaneous accounting investigation / enquiries

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have the relevant skills and experience to undertake and thrive within this role, including;

  • Experience within a similar financial role is essential in addition to experience with book keeping, working with large amounts of financial data and working with XERO is preferable along with a thorough understanding of managing company accounts
  • Experience working within a regulated environment and directly with clients or key stakeholders is preferable
  • Excellent communication, organisational and management skills
  • Strong numerical reasoning when working with both individual calculations and large amounts of data
  • Patient individual who is solution driven
