Sovereign is a social business and one of the largest housing associations in the country. We're also a major developer of affordable housing, building around 1,500 new homes each year to rent or buy. Sovereign was formed in November 2016, as the result of a merger between Spectrum Housing Group and Sovereign.
ROLE (OVERVIEW):
Spectrum Property Care are looking for a Plumber Multi to work from our Frome depot; to help supply complete repairs and maintenance packages to Spectrum Housing Group's companies and to other housing associations, local authorities, schools and private landlords.
RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY DUTIES:
- Repairs to domestic plumbing installations
- Installation of replacement sanitary ware and baths, shower trays and level decks and associated equipment
- Installation of kitchen sinks
- Installation of new pipe work (copper, speed fit, waste, rainwater)
- Installation of new sundry items such as taps and ball valves
- Repairs to sundry items
- Installing and repairing water mains supplies, heating system pipe work and drainage stop taps
- Installing and fixing domestic appliances like shows and washing machines
- Vented and unvented cylinder heads (HWSS qualified or alternative)
- Cold water storage tank maintenance and renewal
As well as the above key duties the Plumber Multi is also expected to have demonstrable experiences in one or more additional trades. These possible trades are; Carpentry, Bricklaying, Tiling, Painting and Decorating, Plastering, Roofing, Ground work and Fencing.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
You should have a minimum of NVQ level 2 or equivalent in Plumbing and have demonstrable experience in all aspects of this core trade. You will have experience of working in occupied premises and be able to demonstrate good customer care skills. The ability to use mobile technology such as an iPad or PDA is essential. A current CSCS card is desirable.
Due to a requirement to travel within this role, candidates must hold a full and current driving licence that is acceptable to our insurers and have the ability to drive a company van.
The closing date for this role is 15/01/2017 and the application process has two stages: after an initial CV assessment, successful applicants will be invited to complete a short supporting application form. Both stages should be completed by the closing date.
