A high profile job with a well-established, market-leading, Gloucestershire-based service sector organisation, offering a high level of exposure to internal stakeholders and external advisors and the opportunity for continued professional development.
Commutable from Gloucester, Cheltenham, Bristol, Stroud and Tewkesbury, there will be a strong emphasis on statutory reporting and tax and the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading Group subsidiary reporting - reviewing and finalising statutory accounts
- Managing the company's corporation tax compliance
- Reviewing corporation tax returns for statutory entities
- Ensuring VAT and PAYE compliance
- Involvement in ad-hoc project and advisory work across the Group
- Ensuring the integrity of tax-related balance sheet accounts and year-end tax disclosures
- Liaising with external advisors such as auditors and HMRC
Our client favours a practice background and believes that this represents an ideal opportunity for someone to transition in to industry, however they are open to consider individuals from industry. Candidates will be qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
Whilst the combination of tax and statutory accounting experience is preferred, the tax side could be learned, provided someone has an interest in it. What is crucial, however, is that candidates have a self-sufficient, 'sleeves rolled up' approach and can thrive in a busy, fast-paced business.
