Laboratory Assistant

Temporary Laboratory Assistants Required

IMERYS Minerals Ltd, the world leader in mineral-based specialties for industry, is recruiting for a number of temporary laboratory assistants. The positions are to be based at Par Moor Centre.

The successful applicants will be responsible for the processing and comprehensive testing of a wide range of samples. Testing will be carried out to strict standards and deadlines and in accordance with Imerys' Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental obligations.

Successful applicants will have the ability to quickly gain expertise in various tests/procedures, be able to follow instructions precisely and ensure results are recorded accurately, in a timely fashion.  In addition, they must have the ability to work independently as well as within a team.  Some tasks will require a degree of manual handling of large samples.

Successful candidates will have a good level of literacy, numeric and IT skills supported by, ideally, a technical aptitude with good interpersonal skills.

A flexible approach to both the type of work and hours of work is required as the positions may involve shift working including nights/weekends.
