Exciting opportunity

Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent's diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

The Post

Reporting to the Director of Customer Services in a newly configured Finance Service Centre, you will play an instrumental role in achieving high levels of customer satisfaction whilst optimising debt recovery and managing financial risks.

You will work with all services across the Council to ensure that Brent's new finance operating model is working successfully and will take a lead role in helping Brent to implement a Council wider approach to debt recovery. This is a wide reaching role and as such successful stakeholder engagement will be essential to delivering our vision and aspirations.

The Person

You will be a CCAB Qualified Accountant who can demonstrate extensive knowledge of managing financial transactions, Income and Debt Recovery.

With previous experience of leading and managing change you will be able to bring fresh thinking and innovation to deliver improvements that will ultimately support our ambition. You will be highly numerate; have excellent IT and communication skills; and have demonstrable skills in people and performance management.

A confident leader who is able to influence and engage you will play a key role in developing Brent's new Operating model for Finance services.
