We are recruiting in our Production team for a Production Manager. We are looking for forward thinking individuals that are able to demonstrate management, motivation and leadership skills to support the business unit. The role involves working in a fast paced environment and is focused on how to develop the production team In terms of implementing improvements and demonstrating a proactive approach to quality management, whilst maintaining a thorough knowledge of products and processes. The successful candidate will possess a good understanding of technical, production and engineering issues that can arise from a fast paced manufacturing environment.
Your challenge
In this role the key responsibilities will include:
*Develop and implement annual operating plans for production departments.
*Effectively engage production teams at all levels to create and execute improvement plans aligned to KPI's or OGSM targets.
*Ensuring compliance with HS& E systems and ISO standards.
*Improving Q,S,E, through the progression of MWD roadmaps.
*Progressing the Autonomous maintenance roadmap to improve plant performance.
*Manage company payroll system for hourly paid staff / compliance to the company HR policies.
*Manage and develop production operating systems (R&R) to achieve daily outputs and support delivery of key objectives.
*Take responsibility for recruitment, training and ongoing development of production teams and individuals.
*Identify, train, coach & mentor at least 1 potential succesor to the PM's role.
*Effectively deliver the company communications cascade process.
*Act as Values role model and Coach Values awareness and application.
*Deputise for Site manager and other managers/champions, particuarly out of hours.
*Lead improvement plans for all aress within production.
*Contribute to the creation of the site annual capex plan.
*Embrace, encourage and practise structured problem solving.
*Work together with Production Planning & logistsics to develop optimum production plan.
*Execute daily planning schedule and work together with Production Planning to continuouosly improve plan efficiency.
*Role involves overseeing 35 operators/ team leaders, 3 different shift patters over 5 production lines
Key skills & experience
Essential:
Experience in Management within a FMCG environment.
Good working knowledge of ISO 14001, H&S, and BRC and PIU standards.
Experience of effectively implementing HR policies.
Planning, organisation, communication, and influencing skills.
PC Literate, word, excel, powerpoint, eHL, Cognos, Domino Doc, ISIS, Movex, CMMS
Lean / Sigma credentials
Desirable:
HNC/HND in relevant discipline.
Management / Leadership qualification.
NEBOSH/ IOSH
Good working knowledge of CI principals and tools
