Our Rivers, Marine & Coastal Business Unit is experiencing an increased workload across various sectors and currently have a wide variety of projects for the Ministry of Defence, Local Government, the Environment Agency, Canals and River Trust, water companies and our colleagues within the Arcadis global business.
Requirements:

We are seeking to recruit a Technical Lead for our coastal modelling team, who will play a key role in leading the technical delivery of our coastal modelling team within our established Marine & Coastal team. To be considered, we are seeking candidates with the following credentials:

Minimum Academic Qualifications:

* Relevant degree
* Post graduate qualifications (e.g. MSc, PhD)
* Chartered Professional status (e.g. CEng, CSci)

Essential Experience:

* Extensive knowledge of marine & coastal processes in relation to engineering design and environmental impact assessment marine & coastal developments
* Expertise and extensive experience in numerical modelling of hydrodynamics, wave climate, water quality, sediment and beach profiling
* Held significant roles in the delivery of projects in the UK and globally
* Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership to teams and projects, with good motivating and delegation skills
* Mentoring and developing the technical coastal modelling skills of team members
* Strong communication and relationship building skills, both internally and externally

Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Business Director you will take a key role in managing and directing the team, providing both leadership and technical guidance to team members, while developing the team to its full potential. You will also be accountable for formulating a specific function/discipline business plan for the team which is aligned to the objectives of Business Director and the wider sector business strategy and vision. Additionally, you will ensure and /or implement right-shaping of resources and effective resource management in line with function / discipline business plan requirements.
Additional responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

* Engaging with and utilising fully the Global Excellence Centres (GECs) as key members and resources of your business teams, and as a seamless part of our service offering.
* Coordinating an effective review process, overseeing the delivery of projects on time, meeting both quality and budgetary targets, while striving to exceed client expectations.
* Ensuring the profitable operation of the function by delivery of the Business plan and achievement of the agreed financial targets (net income, gross margin, working capital, cash collection).
* Liaising closely with the Business Director and Framework Managers to acquire new business from existing and new clients
* Promoting effective and efficient bid management in liaison with the Business Director.
* Promoting and market all facets of the company's services during client interfaces and generally
* Encouraging innovative and entrepreneurial thinking among team members
