Experienced Health & Safety Manager for fit-out / shop fitting / display services company

The Role

The Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for the development, implementation and management of H&S systems, processes and procedures to ensure overall safety, compliance and company H&S accreditations. You will ensure that all on-site works (including subcontractors) are carried out safely with responsibilities including:

• Evaluating / reviewing H&S legislation to ensure company compliance
• Maintaining rigorous risk assessment systems / records / Best Practice
• Supervising staff H&S (induction) training / fire drills / emergency plans etc.
• investigation / reporting and feedback on all accidents / incidents
• liaising with H&S consultants / SSIP accrediting bodies / third parties etc.

Our client provides construction, fit-out, shop-fitting, point of sale and project design and support services to some of the most well-known retail and leisure brands throughout the UK and Europe. Their integrated offering provides specialist expertise, project management and a wide range of merchandising products and services to take projects from concept design through to completion.

The Person

The ideal Health & Safety Manager will have a NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or higher qualification in the HSE / QUENSH / H&S field. With excellent working knowledge of all current H&S legislation and CDM regulations, you will leverage your experience within the construction / interior fit-out / facilities / shop-fitting / maintenance industries to the maximum. You will need excellent communication / interpersonal skills combined with a methodical and organised approach and strong IT skills.
