Electrical Estimator - Oxford
My client, a well-established electrical and mechanical contractor are currently looking to fill a position for an electrical estimator to work out of the Oxford area.
The key purpose of the role is the production of detailed and accurate electrical estimates for traditional and design & build, new build and refurbishment projects. You will be required to work on a broad variety of major projects, across most sectors such as commercial, retail, education, healthcare, leisure and residential. They will require an objective and proactive approach to estimating, be 'customer facing' and capable of maintaining and developing meaningful relationships with our stakeholders.
Electrical Estimator - Responsibilities
* Acquire understanding of the requirements of the project/program at hand
* Select metrics to produce valid estimates
* Visit sites, warehouses and other venues to gather essential information
* Review documents or consult experts to collect all necessary data
* Analyze data and produce forecasts
* Perform risk analysis
* Prepare detailed reports or bids for submission to appropriate parties
* Select advantageous deals by evaluating offers and quotes
* Foster relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, architects etc.)
Electrical Estimator - Requirements
* Proven experience as an electrical estimator
* Basic understanding of accounting and project management concepts
* Deep understanding of research methodology, data analysis and estimation metrics
* Extensive experience estimating on electrical experience
* Comfortable with numbers and technology
* Excellent knowledge of estimating software
* Great attention to detail
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
* Well-organized and reliable
* BSc/BA in engineering, construction science or relevant field
* Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or other qualification will be a plus
