Salary up to GBP70,000 + Car /Allowance + 25 days Holiday + Pension
A respected regional building contactor with a rich history of delivering new build and refurbishment projects across central and southern England is searching for a Senior Estimator.
Their projects range from commercial, education, healthcare and industrial. The value of contracts ranges from GBP300k to GBP6 Million.
As Senior Estimator you will form part of a key Estimating team responsible for supporting the commercial input across a large portfolio including large scale regeneration projects, housing, Schools, Hospitals and D & B.
You will be required to prepare tenders for a full range of works, from small to major works on commercial projects.
To ensure the estimating function provides a full commercial contribution to the organisation.
Estimate the costs for tenders.
Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors.
Support value engineering.
Support the process of assessing, preparing (including post-tender activities), validating, adjudication and final submission of tenders on time and to the required quality.
In particular to:
Minimise the costs of subcontracts and materials, liaise with the design, planning, commercial and bid management functions, support value engineering.
Estimate the costs in order to meet or exceed the customers' requirements, obtain quotations from suppliers, negotiate prices, support negotiations with the customer during the tender process.
To further support the commercial relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, suppliers and subcontractors during the tender and processes. In particular to: build and maintain a portfolio of suppliers and subcontracts to support the tendering process and where applicable obtain 'Bills of Quantities' identify and coordinate suppliers and sub contractors
Personal
Appropriate academic and construction qualifications, detailed knowledge of construction in both new and refurbishment work.
The candidate must be able to confidently communicate with all members of the pre-construction team, directors, clients and consultants.
Candidate must be able to work to strict deadlines.
