Event Manager Weddings and Corporate Parties GBP24-28k Nottingham
Event Manager required to join my clients team. Playing a central role in the sales process and delivery of our prestigious corporate and brand based events as well as our more intimate private occasions. If you want to grow your experience in a great environment it doesn't get much better!
You will be responsible for managing our private and corporate client business. You will become part of the senior operational team working closely with the various internal departments including Creative / Recruitment / Warehouse & Logistics teams. You will be involved in a broad range of events, but the focus will be on our private and corporate party business including multiple weddings, corporate parties and special occasions. This position will involve seeking out new business, responding to enquiries, planning, liaising with clients and maintaining the high standards of service delivery expected of the brand whilst managing the events.
business is 24/7 and hands-on, as an experienced manager in the business you will be well aware and prepared for anti-social hours, physical activity and long shifts working away on event sites. You will be working in often high pressure situations with tight deadlines and need to be capable of taking on additional planning responsibilities to the needs of the business.
Targeting new business and maintaining key client relationships with our existing contact list of agencies, event planners, caterers and marquee companies
Responding to and successfully converting event enquiries into new business
Planning a wide range of events from conception to delivery
On site leadership and co-ordination of a wide range of events
Managing revenue and profitability targets through due diligence, expenditure control and good sales strategies
Upholding the high quality and safety standards expected of the Gorilla brand
Working in an open office environment, keeping a professional, clean and presentable working environment.
Providing daily and weekly sales reporting to the Company Directors
Providing daily and weekly planning reporting to the internal department heads
Creating schedules inclusive of key milestones, budgets, rotas, picking lists and planning schedules for internal and external use
Liaising with various stakeholder groups including clients, licensing authorities, suppliers and staff members
Carry out procurement / orders for stock, equipment and vehicles as required via suppliers or internal inventory
Pre and Post event invoicing and account management of clients and suppliers
Conduct internal and external menu planning & tasting sessions
Being the key point of contact on site for clients
Taking a hands on approach to on-site management of suppliers and staff
Management of stock, inventory and equipment
Self-motivated, well-organised, goal-oriented, and results-driven professional who leads by example
Positive, creative, innovative approach to sales and problem solving with the ability to exercise judgment and discretion to a varied clientele
Proficient in the use of Outlook, Excel, and Word ? Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
Thrive in a fast paced business environment
Must be flexible with schedule, able to work a variety of shifts as required, with extended periods away from home to the needs of the business
Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of events/bar operations - minimum 3 years Event management experience within a sales and operational role.
Personal License Holder
Full, clean driving licence
Van driving experience
Food and beverage industry interest and accolades (WSET etc)
Access to own vehicle
