Our client a global commercial vehicle company are currently on the market for a high calibre HGV Technician to join their depot in the Wigan area.
* Provide support for the shift engineer and ensure maximum automation availability is achieved
* Should possess some engineering aptitude and a willingness to learn
* Responsible for all three elements of maintenance - Proactive, Reactive and Emergency
* Responsible for ensuring the daily operation of the plant and maintaining plant availability
* Supervision and assistance of subcontractors
* Assist in keeping the Health & Safety and OEM manuals up to date
* Maintain the upkeep of spares parts and consumable items
* Assist in all health and safety matters concerning the engineering department, including accident investigations
* Undertake specialised training as required
* Work according to the engineering safe systems of work
* Liaison with all other departments to establish operational problems and provide solutions.
The Person:
* Must be capable of working in a demanding and ever changing environment.
* You must be able to work within a team, yet show the initiative and ability to take the responsibility to work alone and with minimal supervision
* Must be dedicated, proactive and flexible - must be able to embrace and cope with changes.
* It is essential that you work safely at all times, working to procedures and take a pro-active responsibility in improving the workplace safety.
