JOB DESCRIPTION
The Graduate Facilities Engineer will be based at our clients Byfleet site and will provide facilities support for the efficient day-to-day running of our offices and data centres. You will gain a full understanding of all the facilities management processes, ability to work through problems in a logical manner, and work with both internal and external contractors to ensure our facilities remain in optimum condition. You will provide excellent service and support to our customers and internal teams, while actively contributing to the successful operation of their Data Centre and Offices.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensuring that reliable power and cooling is delivered within the Service Level Agreements to customers
- Auditing the Data Centre, and assigning power to new/existing racks
- Arranging for preventative maintenance, to ensure 100% uptime
- Liaising with and managing on-site contractors as part of the preventative maintenance schedules
- Ability to fix minor issues and faults that do not require external contractors
- Ensure good Health and Safety working practices complying with appropriate policy
- Helping team members when required
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- A mechanical/ electronic engineering degree or equivalent qualification
- A basic understanding of technical concepts and terminology (networks, servers, connectivity, the basic knowledge of how data centres operate is preferable but not necessary)
- Good organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Any experience in managing external contractors/ projects is beneficial
- Logical diagnostic and problem solving skills
- Ability to take the initiative where necessary to resolve problems/ issues
- Able to bring a level of entrepreneurship, creativity, commitment, time, patience, and humour it takes to work with an evolving and growing organisation.
THIS CANDIDATE MUST HAVE GRADUATED WITH A DEGREE IN ENGINEERING (MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, ELECTRONICS) AND MUST HAVE A CURRENT DRIVING LICENCE WITH VEHICLE
LOCATION - BYFLEET - This individual must live within a 30 minute drive of Byfleet
