A well established Manufacturing business based in Saltash is looking to recruit an experienced Electronics Software Engineer to join their team. This is a vital role within the business so previous experience is a must.
Main Duties
- Design and develop embedded software for use in products in a language suitable for the application. This will primarily be 'C' or assembler.
- Complete verification and validation process on developed embedded software and systems.
- Constantly review procedures and processes with Manager's, to improve the quality of the products at the design & development stage.
- Write product documentation in accordance with customer and business requirements.
- Liaise with the Production Engineering Department to provide technical assistance in the development of test solutions.
- Help identify to the project team during the planning stages and throughout a project, factors effecting its successful completion.
- Provide technical support to other departments when required.
- To research new technologies and processes/tools, providing feedback on how they could be used in the development of or in the products, or add / enhance features cost effectively.
Experience & Knowledge
- Write & debug embedded software in 'C'
- Write and debug embedded software in Assembler
- Write and debug software in Delphi or Visual Basic
- Experience of Microchip processors
- Use software and hardware debug tools to validate software (e.g. I.C.E., Simulator)
- Can use and operate basic test equipment to validate software (e.g. Oscilloscope, D.V.M.)
- System verification and validation testing
- Design experience of products for robust environments
- Design experience of products for low power environments
- Skilled in the use of Windows 7, Office & Outlook
- MUST have a qualification within Electronics or Software Engineering
Hours: 8.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00 am to 1 pm on Fridays
