Electronic Circuit Design Engineer

Salary dependant on experience

Main objectives/tasks:

From initial outline specification to design and develop cost-effective and reliable circuits across a range of electronic products, for the lighting industry
To take the product from initial concept through to market and subsequent support
To work within ISO quality procedures conforming to ISO9001:2015
Simulation of initial designs, analysis of fault conditions and protection, testing of prototype and first production units, overseeing the creation of production bills of materials, drawings and test instructions
Activities may include contacts with suppliers of materials or design services
To provide technical support to Purchasing, Production and Service departments for the products
Keep up-to-date with the market place
To support R&D Technicians ie technical queries
To be competent enough to take the position of Technical Owner when required

Required qualifications, skills and experience:

Essential

‘A’ Level education
Min HND Electronics
3 years minimum experience in Electronic Lighting Applications or Switch Mode Power Supply design
Ability to analyse and create product
Ability to analyse problems efficiently and produce cost-effective solutions
Good communication skills
PC literate
Experience of a product manufacturing environment

Desired

Degree level Electronics/Physics
Ability to work to tight time scales and manage tasks and time within a given development task
Ideally a minimum of 1 years’ experience in embedded SW environment with C language
Experience of working to ISO 9001:2015
