Our client is a charity that offers, care support and special education to children, adults and families.

They are currently recruiting for a dedicated Facilities Officer to be primarily based at their stunning Head Office on Schools Hill, Cheadle. You will support the caretaker’s/site managers in overseeing the maintenance of the properties across the trust. This role would suit someone with experience of the construction industry including building maintenance and knowledge. You will be self-motivated, have excellent communication skills and effective persuasive and negotiation skills.

Reporting to the Head of IT and Facilities management your responsibilities will include but are not limited to;

  • Ensuring all maintenance and refurbishment works are carried out on time and to budget.
  • Support with the implementation of an annual building maintenance program, including preventative maintenance.
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with relevant service managers on the progress and costings of all work through to completion.
  • Control of the maintenance budget
  • Review maintenance staff and external contractors, de-registering those who are unsatisfactory and sourcing for new contractors.
  • Provide regular updates to Head of IT and Facilities Management

Although your main base will be their Cheadle site, you will be expected to travel to their sites across Cheshire and Greater Manchester. This is a full time role (40 hours per week) and flexibility of working hours is required including some weekends.

They provide residential homes for children offering emergency, crisis, and medium to long term placements, short breaks and community support. They are based in Cheadle with 14 residential and respite homes providing these services. In addition, they provide a wide range of Community Services delivering personalised support in the Greater Manchester area, from supported living services to youth and holiday cubs and adult community activities run from bases in Stockport and Oldham.

They provide some of the leading specialist education services in the North West with two schools based at the main Cheadle site, the College based in Openshaw and another provision based in Droylesden.
