We are looking for a team of enthusiastic, experienced Support Workers to provide additional support to our client, a 70 year old gentleman who is minimally conscious following a severe brain injury. He currently lives in a specialist nursing home in Newport. Our client's care and nursing needs will be completed by the nursing home staff.
Support Worker Role Overview
The Support Worker will work with our client during the day time to provide one to one support within his nursing home environment. They will implement rehabilitation plans by his treating therapists and aim to increase the stimulation our client receives. They will be required to keep accurate records of these tasks and our client's responses.
Support Worker Role / Attributes
- Experience of working within health or social care essential.
- *Physically fit - Even with specialist equipment in place and appropriate training, it is important that you are physically fit.
- Experience of working with brain injury preferable.
- Good team working skills whilst also able to work independently, attention to detail, and being able to communicate clearly are all required.
- Patience and showing a willingness to learn are important.
- Confident to work as an independent support worker within the environment of the nursing home.
- A full driving license (endorsements to be disclosed) and willing to drive the client's adapted vehicle.
- Might suit a candidate carrying out a nursing or therapy course/newly qualified nurse or therapist.
Hours:
Initially a total of 23 hours available per week to be worked across each day of the week. This will be reviewed according to the needs of the client.
The specified hours above can be worked by more than one candidate.
Remuneration:
£10.00 per hour Monday - Friday and £11.00 per hour Weekends and Bank Holidays. Ongoing training and support provided. Free DBS check.
