An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Claims Handler specialising in commercial and private property, to join the claims department in North Yorkshire. The successful applicant will report directly to the Team Leader and be a senior handler of complex and varied property claims with responsibility for the authorising and auditing of work and be the initial referral point for customer queries. You will make legal liability and policy liability decisions maintaining compliance with all regulatory and internal systems controls. Additionally responsible for complaints and regulatory breaches and deal with aspects of complex property claims. Assisting with property based referrals and training of less experienced members of the team. Deputising for senior colleagues and co-ordinating/carrying out audit as per Head Office instruction.

The successful candidate will be experienced within property claims, both private and commercial, including complex cases, and have the skills to be able to develop and coach less experienced staff within this area. You will understand the importance of good customer care. Sound judgement with the ability to analyse, evaluate and make logical decisions. Will show the necessary skills to work in a team environment. Able to effectively meet challenging deadlines and department quality and service standards. Applicants must have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above to include Maths and English.
