Web Developer - Backend - PHP

This leading digital provider based York, England designs, builds and develops cutting edge digital solutions to businesses based in England and abroad. Their growing team started as a collaboration between the UK's leading student website designers and developers, and has grown exponentially over the past 4 years.

They are seeking an experienced (mid to senior) backend developer to help them build and support a number of projects. The large majority of projects are is built on Laravel 5 and most utilise components in the application stack such as; Linux, PHP 5.6/7, MySQL, ElasticSearch and Redis.

Requirements
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
- A portfolio of code you've written
- Willing to relocate to York, England (or surrounding area) if necessary
- Experience with at least one MVC framework. Preferably one of the following: Laravel, CodeIgniter, Zend or Symfony.
- Previous experience with version control; we use Git.

Job Responsibilities
- Help define the scope, estimate and prioritise tasks.
- Follow internal standards, including development and design best practices
- Writing clean, succinct and well-documented code
- Supporting members of the team to deliver high quality applications on time and on budget
