The business is a stainless steel and special metals fabricator. They specialise in the design and manufacture of street furniture, swimming pool equipment, playground equipment, laboratory tables, handrails and balustrades, and are occasionally involved in the production of public art and metal sculptures.
What would you be doing?
The successful candidate would be assisting with business development for three key product ranges: initially playground and swimming pool competition equipment and later street furniture. Typical activities:
-Conducting market research and staying up to date with industry news
-Issuing product literature to potential and existing clients
-Managing phone, fax, email and postal enquiries
-Developing and maintaining a list of positive prospects
-Dealing with customer order queries
-Preparing quotations
-Managing key relationships with current clients
What type of person are they looking for?
The successful person will:
-Be a graduate from a marketing or business degree discipline or of A level education
-Ideally have work experience in a customer-facing role
-Be proactive and hard working
-Have excellent written English skills and a professional telephone manner
-Have good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
-Be outgoing and have a sense of humour
-Have a driving license or taking lessons towards a test
-Foreign language skills would be useful but not mandatory
