Course Overview
Train to become a Fully Qualified Primary Teacher over a two-year course which is broken down into three sections:
Year 1, Term 1 and 2
Work as a Teaching Assistant, gaining knowledge on how the school operates. You will have the chance to get to know the students, teachers and leadership team. The Teaching Assistant element will consist of working 1:1 with students, helping to plan lessons and becoming involved in all aspects of school life. You will learn the ins and outs of the school as a Teaching Assistant!
Year 1, Term 3
This phase will see you move from a Teaching Assistant to a Trainee Primary Teacher. You will be responsible for a 50% timetable, observing lessons and preparing yourself for the second year.
Year 2
You will take an 80% timetable as a Trainee Teacher, attend courses at Buckingham University through half terms, be observed by your academic mentor and be given support by your school mentor. As a Trainee Teacher, you will be working towards gaining your PGCE at the end of the year.

***'C' Grade at GCSE English, Maths and English
***2:1 Degree or better
