THE COMPANY
The company is a long established UK manufacturer and supplier for the design and production of gearing systems and specialist gearboxes. Established in the mid 1800's, the company has been long associated with the supply of precision gears to companies across the world.

THE ROLE
This is a new role which is required to support the future growth of the company. The role focuses on improving the outcomes of various processes so that, by mapping all the inputs and outputs of a defined business process, the Continuous Improvement Coordinator is able to recommend ways to improve efficiency (through the reduction of waste), reduce cost or increase customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* A solid understanding of applicable regulations, safety protocols, manufacturing tolerances and related data
* Solid understanding and experience of standard metrics, diagramming the flow (including inputs and outputs) of a business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, developing a project plan for implementing improvements and monitoring the new process to ensure it works as intended
* Preparing reports and statistics
* Working with shop floor employees and management to identify improvement opportunities
* Coaching employees on how to work more efficiently

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Developing and embedding a sustainable Lean / Continuous Improvement culture by communicating, mentoring and coaching of employees across all relevant functions
* Accountable for ensuring that process improvements are aligned to customer satisfaction with demonstrable business benefits
* An advocate for Lean / Continuous Improvement and driving the methodology by supporting the business with their development of process improvement
* Accountable for the design of the Lean / Continuous Improvement vision and strategy for the area of Continuous Improvement
* Align the Lean / Continuous Improvement mission/vision/purpose to ensure that it supports the business plan
* Accountable for the delivery of bottom line results through successful implementation of improvement projects

REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent
* Minimum of 5 years experience in Operations Management
* Minimum of 3 years experience of working within a Lean / Continuous Improvement environment
* Background in precision machined aerospace components and assemblies
* Project Management experience
* Six Sigma Black Belt (Advantageous)
