James Gray are currently recruiting for an Accountant on behalf of one our clients who are a building services contractor based in the central belt of Scotland.
Our Client
Our client is a privately owned multi-disciplinary contractor operating throughout Scotland. They work with a variety of blue chip clients on a number of major construction projects.
What you will be doing:
This is a key role leading with accountancy responsibility for a division within the group of businesses.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Quarterly management accounts including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement and Variance Analysis
- Audit schedules and statutory accounts
- Liaising with external auditors in the annual audit
- Preparation of monthly contract performance report,
- Preparation of quarterly VAT returns and monthly CIS returns.
- Reconciliations between job costing system and financial system
- Monthly cash flow reporting
- Reconciliation of accounts, investigation into variances and resolution
- Compliance with internal controls for your area of responsibility
- Management and mentoring of team members
What you will need to be successful
As a Chartered Accountant, you will have audit experience including the preparartion of audit files and the management of the process. You will be highly skilled in the use of Microsft Excel for financial reporting purposes. You will have a proactive attitude and be highly organised. With excellent attention to detail, you will have the ability to work under pressure. Experience with Sage would be desirable.
