Lifestyle is a service offered by Age UK Sunderland to people of all ages. People sometimes need assistance to remain independent and ensure a good quality of life. Our Lifestyle service can support people with daily living tasks and activities.
To be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day co-ordination and supervision of Age UK Sunderland’s Lifestyle service. We are looking for an organised, self –motivated individual who can ensure the long term growth and success of this project.
The post holder will:
Conduct a home visit and risk assessment on all new Service Users.
On a weekly basis check all Lifestyle timesheets to ensure compliance with AUKS policies
Co-ordinate effectively the support required
Ensure that risk assessments of all service users are kept up to date.
Effectively support and supervise all Lifestyle staff; identify training needs and performance issues.
Organise and co-ordinate staff rota’s
Provide induction training for staff.
Undertake regular monitoring and evaluation of the project and service user satisfaction.
Work with Age UK Sunderland Finance team to ensure that financial systems and records are effectively managed and actively support with debtors
Promote Lifestyle in an effective manner
Liaise appropriately with external agencies and represent Age UK Sunderland positively.
The ideal candidate will essentially:
Be educated to a good standard preferably with an NVQ3 in Health and Social Care / demonstrable experience of working as a senior supervisor in a care setting.
Have experience of effectively managing and motivating staff.
Have experience of coordinating staff rotas and processing of timesheets
Have a good knowledge of Sunderland localities
Have a sound understanding of the allocation of staff capacity to meet service needs
Have an understanding of and empathy with the needs and aspirations of older people
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Have the ability to conduct risk assessments
Have the ability to respond effectively to unplanned/ emergency situations.
Have a working knowledge of all health and safety requirements regarding the provision of this service.
Have the ability to manage workload and prioritise appropriately.
Have substantial experience of working in a care environment
Demonstrate excellent organisational skills
Have a flexible approach to work
Maintain confidentiality at all times
Be I.T. literate
