Cambridge University Press has a unique opportunity available for a Designer (Academic Marketing) to join the team. The role is a full time, permanent position offering a salary of £26,747 to £31,027 per annum plus benefits.

We are looking for a talented Designer who is passionate about typography and designing valuable creative and templated print and digital design material to a team of Marketing Executives and Associates. As well as providing support to the Senior Designer within the department, you will be required to work under your own initiative on marketing campaigns and projects and be able to manage the design and/or outsource of design of our digital catalogues.

What are the responsibilities of the Designer?

- Designing and co-ordinating marketing material, with and without templates, which meet the needs of the Academic Marketing Department, ensuring our typographical and branding standards are maintained.

- Ensuring the publicity items are produced on time, to an agreed brief and budget, to a high standard of design and print.

- External print purchases where required using approved suppliers. Obtaining quotes, checking files and quality, supplying proofs, onward distribution to mailing houses and tracking into storage.

What skills do I need to have to become a Designer?

- Creative, with a keen eye for typographical detail.

- Confident and comfortable building relationships with global marketing executives and external suppliers.

- Proven in producing successful design materials, both print and digital.

- Familiar with print production and the constraints it places on design.

- Ideally experienced within the publishing field.

- Established with design software including Adobe CC, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.

- Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in relevant Design area.
