Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (days), Based in Wrexham, £25-30k dependant on experience. Working Day shifts: Mon-Thurs 8am-4.30pm, Friday 8am-1.30pm. Benefits: Pension, Life Assurance and discount schemes, 25 days’ holiday and optional call out schemes. There may be a requirement to work shifts, so some flexibility is required.
We have an exciting opportunity for Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a global Precision Engineering & Manufacturing business who provide integrated manufacturing solutions for Aerospace, Defence, Medical and other related industries. Applicants should be a time served Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with some multi skilling electrical knowledge / experience.
Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out fault finding on a range of equipment inclusive of pneumatic and hydraulic controls.
- To react accordingly to breakdowns and working within a Planned Preventative Maintenance System.
- Liaising with Production Co-ordinators to ensure that equipment is operational for production and that preventative maintenance is adopted where possible.
- Ensuring replacement parts recorded and fed back to the Co-ordinator for replacement.
- Ensure a high level of housekeeping is maintained and non-essential breakdowns and repairs are carried out within working areas.
- To assist with Lean Manufacturing projects when required from a maintenance perspective.
Who are we looking for?
- Must have the ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be time served holding a relevant Mechanical Maintenance qualifications.
- Electrical knowledge would be desirable.
- Experience of maintaining mechanical equipment such as pneumatics and hydraulics is required together with general PLC knowledge.
- Experience leading a team is desirable.
- Experience working on CNC Machinery is advantageous.
- Must be used to working with a computerised Maintenance CMMS system.
- To be able to fault find, diagnose, repair and install ancillary equipment such as sockets, lights and non-electrical items.
- Hold a current driving license, as commuting between sites is essential.
- FLT & Scissor Lift license desirable, although not essential as training can be given.
- Must be flexible to work overtime and be willing to get called out during out of hours.

Highly focused with drive and enthusiasm to succeed. You must be highly motivated to work on your own initiative, enjoy a challenge and be flexible in your approach to working hours. As the role requires some local travelling you must have a full and clean driving licence.
