Are you an experienced KS2 Teacher who has a passion for working with young people who display challenging behaviour?

Do you take a keen interest in helping children who have social, emotional mental health difficulties to make progress?

Perhaps you are considering working in a specialist setting and moving on from mainstream, if so this SEMH School needs you!

Prospero Teaching are recruiting on behalf of an outstanding special school for boys aged 7-11 years who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Some may also have associated learning difficulties which have impacted on their ability to access the curriculum in mainstream schools. All pupils currently have a Statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education, Health and Care Plan.

As a KS2 class teacher you will be required to plan, prepare and teach the national curriculum in line with statutory requirements and the school's schemes of work, ensuring teaching of the highest standard. You must be passionate about supporting students with social, emotional and mental health difficulties and be able to use a creative approach to teaching to ensure that students are engaged.

Ideally you will already have very strong behaviour management skills and be able to produce positive behaviour plans for students - however at this stage the school are very open to supporting a strong mainstream teacher with becoming a behaviour specialist teacher! Previous experience of working with children who have a specialist statement would be ideal however this is not essential.

Ideal candidates for this role will:

*Have previous experience working with children or want to pursue a career specialising in behaviour
*Be eligible to work within the UK
*Be a driven, dedicated and hard-working individual
*Be able to build good rapport with students
*Hold a current DBS or be willing to process one
*Provide two current work based, child related references.
*Be a qualified teacher with QTS

Desired skillset and experience:

* Team teach

* SEN experience

* School based knowledge

* Good curriculum understanding

The school has a very positive and encouraging ethos where the students have individual reward systems in place to inspire progression. Staff at this school are valued highly which is demonstrated by the close knit team spirit and amount of support on hand from SLT members. They are currently going through a period of expansion which has led to improvements to facilities and developments being made across the school which included the recent introduction of music and drama therapy for the students.
