Secondary English Teacher | English Teacher | Wilmslow

This exciting Secondary English Teacher position available for a Maternity cover contract starting in February 2017 (potentially sooner) is a fantastic opportunity to join an Ofsted graded 'Good' school in the Cheshire East area.

Do you love to read? Do you have an exceptional vocabulary? As an inspirational English Teacher can you enthuse your passion for plays, poetry, classic literature and the English language to an active cohort of secondary school students?

This English Language / English Literature Teacher position will teach a variable timetable of both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 class groups, across a range of abilities. You will be required to plan and deliver lessons that stretch the highest ability students and also offer support to low ability students, in order to ensure that all students have the best opportunity to make progress. Where appropriate, lessons should be planned to provide opportunity for discussion and also for students to become independent learners, in order to meet the needs of the new curriculum.

This Ofsted 'Good' school caters for over 1500 students, and is built on a culture of respect - respect for staff and for each other that ensures students learn in an aspirational environment conducive to achievement. The School believes that there is more to learning than assessment and that in order to prepare students for living in a global society it is vital to learn about other beliefs, cultures and values. They also provide many opportunities for learning to continue outside of the classroom through the provision of visiting workshops and educational school trips. Through developing a love of learning their mission is for students to leave after attaining high level qualifications that prepare them for further education or employment.

A current teacher of the English Department teaching staff told me "Working here is great - there's a large community feel and everyone supports each other in delivering a first class education."

To be successful for this position you will:

*Hold QTS or equivalent qualifications that allow you to be placed in schools
*Have effective classroom management
*Build and develop professional relationships with both school staff and students
*Be provided with various development opportunities as your career within education flourishes
