This company works with the world's top automotive companies to provide data analysis, business process and product lifecycle management tools. They currently have over 100 team members, 2 offices and work across 6 locations in the UK and Germany.

In addition, the company has an investment arm called which invests in exciting start-ups as the 'technical co-founder', and currently has nine investments, and a Studio arm.

They are expanding rapidly and now have an exciting opportunity within their Finance function to put the foundations in place for future stability and growth.

The Financial Controller is responsible for leading the company's financial accounting, reporting and controlling activities across the group of companies to ensure they are carried out efficiently, effectively and in line with best practice.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare monthly management accounts for each reporting entity and the group for full review by the Senior Management team;
- Ownership of the year-end accounting process for the company;
- Aged debtor control and liaison with Business Leaders on ensuring billing up to date;
- Preparation of VAT returns and corporate tax computations, including submissions to HMRC;
- Completing and reviewing monthly control reconciliations;
- Liaising with external accountants to complete annual statutory reporting process;
- Ensure accounting policies comply with the relevant accounting standards and that company policies are followed;
- Manage an established Finance team, including remotely managing resources in Germany and Bangladesh;
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting across the business;
- Recommend changes that will improve the company's financial performance (for example both cost reviews and credit control) and financial controls; and
- Ad hoc analyses as required by the board.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Qualified Accountant or studier;
- Experience using Sage and Xero a distinct advantage;
- Critical thinking and good analytical skills;
- Excellent Excel skills;
- Strong written and oral communication skills;
- Interpersonal skills sufficient to support and advise the Senior Management team; and
- Preferably experience of accounting within the professional services sector.
