Audit / Accounts Client Manager - Permanent - Southampton, UK
Salary - GBP50,000 - GBP55,000
Stratford Reid are working with a well-established Accountancy firm who are looking for a Audit / Accounts Client Manager in their offices based in Southampton.
In return the firm are offering up to GBP55k with fantastic benefits including life insurance, private medical, flexible working and a discretionary bonus.
You will work directly with the Managing Director on all matters relating to the services provided to clients. You will ensure all client affairs are dealt with promptly and to a high standard.
The ideal candidate to join them will have the following responsibilities-
- Assist the Managing Director on specific client projects, to include tax planning, corporate finance and general business strategy.
- Proactively offer assistance to the Managing Director and other client managers.
- Maintain good client relationships.
- Communicate with clients, potential clients and all other third parties in professional manner at all times.
- Control of audits and accounts preparation work for clients assigned to them.
- Take responsibility for the quality of work produced on assignments for which they have responsibility.
- Optimise the billing and profitability potential of the audit / accounts assignments.
- Identify specific cross-selling opportunities and monitor and progress these with clients.
- Keep up to date with all accounting changes through professional reading, research and training courses.
- In liaison with department members establish training requirements and inform the manager responsible for training.
- Attend networking events.
- Planning, Review and Finalisation of Audits / Accounts Preparation assignments including preparation, approval and monitoring of budgets, considered review of juniors/seniors work, attending client meetings, finalisation of financial statements and presentation of files to the Managing Director for review.
- Ensure that Audit / accounts adjustments are agreed by client and thereafter processed through the clients accounting system
- Review and report to the Managing Director on management accounts provided by clients
- Review of final accounts for compliance with accounting standards
- Review of corporate tax computations for accuracy and compliance with legislation
- Consider and recommend to the Managing Director ways to reduce client tax liabilities
- Ensure that all aspects of company secretarial duties on behalf of clients are completed by set deadlines. Ensure that changes in details of shareholdings, directorships etc. are reflected in financial statements, statutory books and at Companies House.
- Train, supervise and coach staff
- Manage a portfolio of clients in all respects (accounting, audit and tax etc and lock-up).
- All other tasks as required by the Managing Director.
