Our client is a global supplier of electrical systems to the automotive industry, a market leader in Europe and major international presence, with employees in over 30 countries worldwide.
Having experienced significant growth in the recent years, they are now looking to recruit a Design Engineer, based in their UK Headquarters in North Staffordshire.
Specific duties:
* The design, development and validation of bespoke components for vehicle wiring system from concept to production
* Designing and developing plastic, metal, rubber and fuse box products to meet customer specifications and requirements
* Liaising with suppliers and customers in relation to all aspects of each product
* Design problem evaluation & resolution
* Preparing and maintaining project plans in line with customer and business requirements
Your Profile:
* Minimum level of education: HNC / Engineering or Degree (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering)
* Proven experience in product design and development
* Experience of using CATIA or equivalent 3D modelling software
* Experience of product prototyping, polymers, metals and rubbers as well as injection moulding and metal form tooling
* Project Management experience advantageous
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
* Willing to travel to worldwide customer locations and to our overseas manufacturing sites
