I have an internationally recognised housebuilder who has just opened a new office in Leeds who will be working specifically on private housing.
The main purpose of the role is to control and co-ordinate all architectural information between external consultants and internal departments. To ensure all approvals are obtained and correct information received and issued to allow for a programmed start on site.
Key Accountabilities:
Design
- To work with the Land Department to ensure smooth transition of all architectural information takes place.
- To check all architectural drawings and details for accuracy, correctness and commercial suitability.
- To liaise with external consultants to ensure deadlines are met.
- To apply for and secure planning permission for all architectural design and relevant regulation approval.
- To attend site visits and meetings in order to solve any problems that arises during the construction process.
- To attend design meetings with planning departments to ascertain requirements from a council perspective for new developments.
- Ensure that new regulation requirements are anticipated and incorporated as required.
Land Appraisal
- Procure sketch layouts and architectural design solutions.
- Provide provisional assessment of architectural design requirements.
- Review technical information and provide value architectural design.
Innovations
- Be aware of the need for innovation in all aspects of our business.
- Expect and encourage continued change and improvement within the company.
Working drawings, Building Regulations and Code for Sustainable Homes (CFSH)
- Procure complete working drawing packages for each development from consultants and check prior to issue, using core house types where possible.
- Complete, approve and formalize the Building Regulation and CFSH applications.
- Monitor progress of the Building Regulation and CFSH applications and obtain approval.
- Provide ongoing support for site at construction stage with any working drawing related queries.
Architectural / Technical Design
- Assist the Technical Director to obtain fee quotations from specialist consultants for all architectural design requirements.
- Provide architectural and technical support to the site teams.
- Assist the Commercial team in cost plan completion with regard to architectural matters.
- Take full responsibility for the day to day running of the architectural and planning section within the Technical Department.
They would ideally like to appoint a senior architectural technician or technologist with home building experience, but they will also consider technicians with a Residential background.
